I like to travel. First of all, the members of our family usually have long walks in the country. Such walks are called hikes.

If we want to see countryside we have to spend a part of our summer holidays on hikes. During such hikes we see a lot of interesting places, sometimes we meet interesting people.

It's useful for all members of our family. We take our rucksacks. We don't think about tickets and there is no need to hurry up.

As for me, it's more comfortable to travel by train and by plane. But it's difficult to buy tickets for the plane. That's why we buy our tickets beforehand.

When I travel by plane, I don't spend a lot of time going from one place to another, I like to fly. If I travel by train or by plane my friends see me off at the railway station or in the airport.

I like to travel by car. It's interesting too, because you can see many things in a short time. When we go by car, we don't take tickets. We put all things we need in a car. We don't carry them.

Sometimes we go to the seaside for a few days. As usual the weather is warm and we can swim. It's a pleasure to watch white ships.

So I can say that I enjoy all kinds of travelling very much.

Minsk, the capital of Belarus

Minsk is an old city. It was founded in 1067. About two million people live there today. When tourists come to Minsk, they see the new railway station. It was built in 2001. The building is very modern and beautiful.

The oldest place in Minsk is Troitskoe Suburb. There are a lot of cafes, small shops and  museums there. There are a lot of cinemas and theatres in Minsk. The most beautiful theatre is the Opera and Ballet House.

All children’s  favorite place is Gorky Park. There is a big wheel, a merry – go-round and other rides there. Next to the park there is  the Circus. There you can see acrobats and clowns, lions and tigers, bears and horses.

Not far from the park there is Pobeda Square. War veterans go there on  May 9^th.

I usually have three meals a day. In the morning I have breakfast.  Usually I have a sandwich and a cup of tea. At school I have lunch. This is often soap, mashed potatoes with meat and a cup of tea. In the evening I have dinner. My mother cooks chicken with vegetables and rice. It’s yummy!! 

I think  that if you want to be healthy you should eat different foods to get all the important elements for healthy growing. Vegetables help your eyes, skin and teeth. Milk and cheese are good for your teeth and bones. Meat and fish help to build your body. Bread and cereal give you energy.

There are a lot of special days in Belarus and Britain. They are: Independence Day, Christmas,   New Year’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Victory Day and so on. Our native special days are: Independence Day, Victory Day, Christmas, and New Year’s Day, Easter. Some years ago, young people in Belarus started to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Now, at schools, children like costume parades at Halloween, though they are British holidays. My favourite holidays are: Easter and Victory Day .At Easter people paint eggs in bright colours and give them to each other as a present On this day the   godfathers   get together with  their  godchildren and give them presents.

On  Victory  Day, people watch great parades of veterans in the streets of towns .Everybody keeps flowers and coloured  balloons in their hands. Different troupes show their presentations in parks and squares. Pupils give cards and flowers to veterans  on this day. In the evenings all people watch fireworks in the center of Mogilev.I like this holiday and want there is peace in the   world.

Nowadays, people can’t imagine their life without TV or a computer .They   watch  a lot of films, sports  programmes  and conserts on it. The list of channels and programmes is very long. The tastes are differ. On  the weekends you can watch cartoons and  music programmes, adventure films and the news; quiz shows and comedies. Whatever  you want. If you have time you can watch the same programmes on work days.

As for me, my favourite TV programme is “Animal planet”. This programme is on at 6 p.m. every day. It’ s  about  animals  food, behavior habbits. I always watch this programme. It’s exciting! It’s amusing!

Hello! My name’s _ .I’m _ years old and I’m   in the fifth form. I live  in the town of  Mogilev, Belarus. My native town is very  beautiful  and there are a lot of  interesting places to see: Gorky park, Soviet square and  Leninskaya  street .There are a lot of museums , picture galleries  and theatres in Mogilev .Some years ago the Zoo Garden was built near the town. But on my day out I prefer to go to the amusement park on the left bank of the river Dnieper. I can play on the slides and swings, go on the merry-go-round, rides .I and my friends run, jump and laugh. We buy gifts and eat pizza with juice at the local café. Usually it doesn’t cost too much. It’s the best  pleasure time in summer. When  winter comes, I  visit picture galleries or go the cinema to watch new cartoons. Sometimes I stay at home.  I read books , play computer games or help my  mum to cook dinner. My  days out are wonderful .Come and spend  them with me.

Hurray! Summer is here at last! Summer is grass, flowers, birds, the bright sun and a lot of berries, fruit, and vegetables. We swim, get  sunburn, and drink lemonade and coke. Then we go to our summer house. We grow vegetables and flowers. Sometimes we gather mushrooms and berries in the  forest. As for me, in  my summer  holidays I went to a summer camp. It was fun! We played on the slides and on the swings. We played  football and volleyball. In  the evenings  I danced at the disco or watched films at the cinema. We watched the new film “Dinosaurs come back”. It was cool! Summer is wonderful! It’s beautiful and bright!
